3996(I)_Korea Province animation visit 2016

Seoul, Korea, 3~8 May 2016 - After the extraordinary visitation of INT (India – Tiruchy) province the EAO Regional Councilor dedicates the whole month of May to the animation visits in six EAO countries (Korea, Malaysia, Australia, Fiji, Timor Leste and Indonesia). The first stop over (May 3-8) was in Seoul, Province of the Holy Korean Martyrs.
The beginning of May, a spring time, in Korea, is characterized by the Children’s Day and Parent’s Day. Fr. Václav was happy to share the fraternity with more than 60 confreres during the sports day in the green football field of the provincial house at Shin Gil Dong, Seoul.
Among the musts of each annual animation visit is the provincial council meeting. Two hour time was dedicated to the follow up of the previous extraordinary visitation (2012) challenges about vocation discernment, fraternal communication and witness of consecrated life amidst the strongly materialistic and secularized society.
Thanks to the Korean bullet train (KTX) was possible also a short visit to all three formation houses in Kwangju post-novitiate, Seoul – Dae Rim Dong pre-novitiate and Naeri novitiate. Fr. Klement was happy to pray the Rosary with the youth at risk (probation institution in Seoul) who are growing together with the young Salesian generations.
Korean province strong point is the close relationship amongst the seven Salesian Family groups. Morning Eucharist celebrated in the FMA and Caritas Sisters provincial house and short animation of the Salesian Cooperators provincial council.
There are 120 Salesians and 2 novices in 13 communities in the province of Korea. Main focus of the youth ministry is on the youth ministry towards the youth in need or youth at risk. Amidst the fast changing developed country the Catholic Church and within her also the Salesians do their best to be the credible witnesses to God's Love.
