Rector Major's Visit to Japan and Korea coming soon!

Tokyo-Japan and Seoul-Korea, 2 November 2018 -- After the 2018 February-March animation visit of the Rector Major to Timor Leste (TLS) and Indonesia (INA) Vice provinces, the tenth successor of Don Bosco will arrive on in Tokyo on 7 November for a five day visit to Japan (Nov 7-13) that will continue in South Korea (Nov 13-18). The two provinces are now busy with immediate preparation to welcome Fr Ángel and make it a quality time of animation.
During the five full days in Japan, the Rector Major will travel to the first Salesian mission in Miyazaki (Hyuga Gakuin - Salesian High School, Nov 8-9) and than return to Tokyo, Chofu Salesian formation house (Cimatti Museum and Tomb). A variety of encounters with Youth, Salesian Family and Salesian confreres will take place In the Tokyo metropolitan area - in Chofu, in Akabane and in Yokohama. The beautiful motif with the Fuji mountain and welcome to Japan (Bienvenido a Japon) is much visible on social media already.
Meanwhile after his arrival in Seoul from Tokyo (November 13), after the initial meeting with the press at the provincial house Fr Ángel will spend one full day in Seoul, then continue to the Novitiate in Neri at the seashore and continue to Gwangju (the first Salesian Mission in Korea). The last two days of the Rector Major's visit will be in Seoul once more. Among the highlights of the program is the promise to be made by many Salesian Cooperators, the baptism of Bosconian students and the renewal of SDB profession.
In both countries many initiatives are going on by way of meaningful preparation: the Japanese and Korean editions of the Salesian Bulletin have dedicated enough room to presenting the person of the Rector Major with his vocation story (manga - Korea) and the background of the whole Salesian Family (Japan).
