Every 30th of the month Vietnam province celebrates
July 28, 2017
EAO, 28 July 2017 -- After the extraordinary visitation of Vietnam - Mongolia Province, the Rector major asked in his official letter to celebrate every 30th of the month the Majcen Day:
"Facilitate a deeper knowledge of the charismatic roots in your province in order to foster the apostolic zeal of the younger confreres. Celebrate every 30th of the month the ‘Majcen Day’ with sharing about Fr. Andre Majcen's life witness as Servant of God and Don Bosco of Vietnam."
The official canonical process of canonization was started in Slovenia, where Fr. Andre Majcen passed away on 30th September 1999, was started in 2010 and the first phase of testimonials and preparation of the 'Positio' (Report on the Virtues of the Servant of God) is being prepared under the responsibility of the Vice-postulator of the Cause, Fr. Alojzij Slavko SNOJ (former provincial of Slovenia).
For the EAO Salesian family members are available on the Boscolink quite few materials (biography, video, power points) in English.
Short biographical profile of Fr. Majcen:
Prayer of thanksgiving
Thank you, God, for calling me
and giving me the courage to repond
to your call…
Thank you, God, especially
for the paths I took
at home and in the missions…
I am happy
that I followed this road…
Thank you God, for calling me
to the Salesian Congregation
and for sending me to proclaim the Gospel
in Far Eastern lands.
Mary, Help of Christians,
thank you for everything, because I know
that this is what I learned from St John Bosco, that everything I haqve achieved
is your work.
Without Mary I am nothing.
If I am not a saint I am nothing.
(Andrej Majcen)
