Perpetual Profession of nine confreres in Parañaque

Parañaque, The Philippines, 31 May 2016 -- On the Feast of the Visitation of Our Lady, nine confreres professed their vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience forever in the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians.
All belonging to the community of Seminaryo ng Don Bosco undergoing the specific formation for priesthood, they are:
Fr. Anthony Paul Bicomong, SDB, the FIN Provincial Superior accepted their perpetual profession. Fr. Paul Choi, SDB and Fr. Stephen Placente, SDB stood as witnesses. In his homily, Fr. Bicomong reminded the assembly especially the perpetuandi that, as it was in Mary, it is Lord Jesus who completes our life. It is only through Him that we are able to make our vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.
Fr. Godofredo Atienza, SDB, FIS Provincial Superior was among those who were present. Many attendees were young people from the various settings where the brothers worked during the summer break.
On behalf of the group, Brother Oliver expressed their heartfelt gratitude to those who had come to witness and those who have made their perpetual profession possible. Using the theme of that they chose for this occasion, he capped his thanksgiving speech—"Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his mercy endures forever." (Psalm 118:1)
