MHC Image continues to amaze Marian devotees, three years in a row!
December 9, 2015By Asp. Janver Bondoc
Manila, Philippines, December 6, 2015 - Most of us have still this Marian hangover fresh from the celebration of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception yesterday. But some had their share of the Marian fever as early as Saturday, 6 December, as they participated in the 35th Intramuros Grand Marian Procession.
Below is Asp. Janver Bondoc's narrative of what happened.
Waves of devotees from different parts of the country, including some members of the Salesian Family, the aspirants, prenovies and Salesians of Don Bosco Prenovitiate Canlubang, and youth from different Salesian Schools and Parishes around Metro Manila, flocked on the 35th Intramuros Grand Marian Procession (IGMP).
It is already the third year that the image of Mary, Help of Christians is processioned together with the well-venerated images here in the Philippines and even abroad. But this time, together with the image of Mary, Help of Christians, are the images of the saint who propagated the devotion to her and his student, St. John Bosco and St. Dominic Savio.
The images of Mary, Help of Christians and of Sts. John Bosco and Dominic Savio are owned by Mr. Nolan Angeles an alumnus of Don Bosco Technical College Mandaluyong City.
The procession started at around 4 PM but it was only around 6 PM that the carriage of our Lady moved from where it was stationed. Different songs are being sung and different music are being played but only one prayer is being prayed – the Holy Rosary.
Fr. Remo Bati, SDB, Director of the National Shrine of Mary, Help Christians, Parañaque, Fr. Gerry Martin, SDB, Rector of the Don Bosco Prenoviate and Diocesan Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, Canlubang, and Fr. Ding Cortez, Youth Director of St. John Bosco Parish, Makati were just some Salesian priests who attended the IMGP.
The image of Mary, Help of Christians has never failed to amaze the people who annually attend the IMGP.
