3907(I)_Extraordinary Visitation to the FIN
February 15, 2016Manila, Philippines, February 4, 2016 - Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga, SDB., the General Councillor for South Asia Region, arrived in Manila last February 3, 2016 for his Extraordinary Visitation to the Philippine-North Province (FIN) from February 4 to April 18, 2016 in the Philippines and continue in the Delegation PNG-SI (FIN) until May 15, 2016.
The visitation began last February 4 with Fr. Arokiam addressing all the Rectors of the FIN Province during their monthly Rectors' Assembly. After the Rectors' Assembly, he left with Fr. Ramon Borja, the Rector of Don Bosco Academy in Mabalacat, Pampanga to officially begin his visitation to the local communities of the Province.
He reminded all the Rectors that the work of the Visitation consists in the self-assessment of the community itself. Fr. Kanaga intended that his visitation be simple with no fanfare. And he also expressed his desire that his visit to every community be marked by a certain ecological advocacy. The visitor even explicitly said that if possible, let the community allow him to plant a sapling. He wished that at the end of his visitation, he meets the House Assembly and, if necessary, the Local House Council.
Fr. Arokiam comes to the FIN Province as a brother among brothers with the mission of carrying out a Constitutional duty on behalf of the Rector Major.
God bless this Extraordinary Visitation.
