4209(IV)_Send- off for Fr. Guillermo Basañes, SDB from Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, 21 November 2016 -- Fr. Guillermo Basañes made his first visit as a councilor for the mission. He arrived in Ulaanbaatar on November 17, 2016. For past three days he held conferences, meetings and other encounters with Salesians, FMAs, Salesian cooperators and young people of Ulaanbaatar.

On November 21, 2016, Fr. Guillermo Basañes concelebrated with Bp. Wenceslao Padilla at Sunday Mass held in the Sts. Peter and Paul cathedral, commemorating the solemnity of Christ the King and Closing of the Jubilee year. In the afternoon he gave a conference for the Salesian cooperators who came from Maria Auxilium Parish Darkhan where he could not reach due to heavy snowfall and severe weather.

In the evening, the Salesian families organized for him a send-off get together with Most Rev. Wenceslao Padilla, Bishop of the apostolic prefecture of Mongolia and with a first Mongolian priest Fr. Enkhbaatar Joseph. While having the meal the Bishop sang a farewell song with all the people around him and gave a short informal speech thanking and appreciating the good works or apostolate done by salesians in Mongolia. Fr. Guillermo Basañes too thanked the bishop, salesians and cooperators for having given him a wonderful hospitality and care. He also presented a gift for Bishop and Fr. Enkh Joseph.

On November 21, 2016 in the morning he left for Rome via Beijing.

The Delegation of Mongolia is very grateful to him for spending a valuable time with conferrers animating, guiding, encouraging and supporting them.
