4727(I)_Brotherhood Cup 2018!
Fostering the communion through sport
May 15, 2018
Melbourne, Australia, 13 May 2018 -- Every year the diocesan seminarians and religious brothers studying in Melbourne gather together for the Brotherhood Cup. For almost 10 years this soccer tournament has been running and is always a highlight for the young men in formation. Watching the games and enjoying the skills and passion it is clear that this tournament is very important to all the players, friends and supporters.
We gather together to express our joy on the soccer field, to share in a spirit of communion by playing together, and to find a healthy outlet for our energy and enthusiasm. It is called the Brotherhood Cup because we try to create a spirit of fraternal love in our games, however this does not mean the soccer is easy, we play with energy and passion!
It is a pleasure to report that this year the Salesian United team won the tournament. The Salesian team played three games, having two wins and one draw. This result means the Salesian team has now won the tournament two years in a row! Our team is formed from Salesian brothers in formations, Salesian youth, and some religious friends from other orders who join our team - so truly we are Salesian United.
