HCM City, Vietnam, 24 June 2017 -- Greetings from Vietnam! Six weeks after the EAO Tokyo 2017 Regional Congress, on the 24th of June, we held the meeting of the representatives of 17 centers, together with the complete ASC provincial council, in the presence of the SDB Provincial Fr. Joseph Quang and his Council. In this meeting we discussed about the next 10th EAO Congress (2020) venue and we come to the final decision:
The participants - SDB and Salesian Cooperators - unanimously voted to host and organize the coming 10th EAO Congress of Salesian Cooperators in 2020 in Vietnam.
Fr. Joseph Quang, SDB shares the basic belief after this decisions: "We wish to follow our dear Japanese Salesian Cooperators - to make the impossible become possible. We hope that the coming preparation will be done well also with the support and accompaniment from the SDB EAO Regional Councilor and Central SC. Thank you very much and may God bless you all."
Ms. Noemi Bertola, the World Coordinator of the Salesian Cooperators welcomes this news with joy: "Thanks for this fantastic news! I'm sure, that Good Lord and Don Bosco will help us to make the impossible become possible! Thanks also for the great courage of the Vietnam Salesian Cooperators and their SDB Provincial: God will award them for their trust in the Providence. From my part and from the World Executive Secretariat I promise all possible support! I entrust all the steps of the Salesian Cooperators in this most beautiful EAO region to Mary!"
Also the World Councilor ASC for the EAO Region, Mr. Philip Yu comments with enthusiasm: "Excellent! Thanks to the members of the Provincial Council ASC-VIE. I’m waiting for long and so happy to hear your final resolution, especially a collegial decision when all 17 local Centers voted for it!!!"
We are glad for the faith, trust and courage of the Salesian Cooperators of Vietnam with their Delegates in this decision making process. May Don Bosco bless these three years path of preparation as a precious opportunity to grow!
