New FIN Provincial preparing for installation

MANILA: 30 June 2008 -- Fr Eli Cruz, the newly appointed provincial of FIN, replacing Fr Andrew Wong, now Regional for EAO, will be formally installed as Provincial on 5 July.  Fr Danilo Torres, who has been 'holding the fort' as Vice Provincial since Fr Wong's departure, will remain at the Provincial House Makati as Rector.  Fr Martin Macaset will take Fr Eli's place as Rector at Don Bosco Mandaluyong.
    Other news of interest from the FIN Province is the canonical establishment of two new communities, St Dominic Savio Parish Mandaluyong, and Don Bosco College Canlubang. Rectors for these communities and other newly appointed Rectors will in fact all be installed along with the new Provincial on 5 July.
    Br Raymond Callo (Bro Mon, as he is widely known) will now head up the Chair of the Youth Ministry Commission, a role formerly held by Fr Martin Macaset. The Youth Ministry Commission will 'take up the challenge of creating a vocational culture in every setting' as indicated by GC26 and move in the direction of 'a vocation ministry ... understood and experienced as the very crowning of youth ministry' also indicated by GC26.
    One final item of news from FIN is that two members of the Province will be formerly missioned for the mission 'ad gentes' in Turin's MHC Basilica as part of the annual missionary expedition. They are Fr Roel Sotto who will be going to Cambodia (THA Province) and Bro Carmelo Martinez, destined for Pakistan.
