5542(III)_Merry Christmas and Dream for 2021 from Mongolia
December 30, 2020
Mongolia, 30 December 2020 -- This year we are probably 'flooded' not so much by Christmas postcards or Christmas wishes on paper, but by a large variety of digital card, wishes, videos and Christmas messages. From the 'Far North' of the EAO Region - Mongolia Delegation - we can access a very interesting Christmas message from the Delegate, Fr. Paul Leung, which leads us also to the 20th anniversary year of our Salesian presence in the land of Genghis Khan (2001-2021). Full version of the Christmas message from Mongolia can be found on Facebook or YouTube.
"Dear Brothers and Sisters
This year due to the pandemic we can't send you the ordinary Xmas card. So I'm greeting all of you, who support us during the whole year of 2020.
... and I would like to present you a new project that will (God willing) start in 2021 in the ever first Don Bosco building (that hosted the first SDB community in Mongolia already in 2001). And in the context of 20th anniversary of Don Bosco presence in Mongolia we would like to make a step forward. We are dedicated to start an Elementary school here - in the first Don Bosco building in Ulanbaatar (grade 1-2 since September 2021, due to the pandemic delay) and later build up to the high school education.
While we are waiting for the Elementary school permission delayed due to Covid19, we run the Day Care Center for almost 200 children, providing besides lessons, also lunch and some snacks, recreation time with games and rest...
Dear Friends, we are sharing our dreams, about providing complete basic education for the Mongolian children here. This is the starting phase, it needs time and and a lot of investment, we are sure that with your prayer, with your support God will continue to bless us, enlighten us and guide us to accomplish this Don Bosco project.
On behalf of our Salesian confreres, our students and our future students of our school, on behalf of our staff I would like to express our gratitude. We wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"
