FMA NOVICEMISTRESS KILLED IN FALL
Melbourne: 6th April -- Sr. Enrica Van Dijk, the
novicemistress and a former Provincial of the Australia-Samoa province of the
Salesian Sisters, died yesterday in a tragic accident.
Sister Enrica was walking with the novices in a
mountainous area of Western Victoria known as The Grampians; it is a popular
area for bushwalking. It appears that Sr. Enrica lost her footing near a
steep decline and fell some 60 metres before her fall was arrested by a
tree. She was lifted to the Alfred Hospital by air ambulance, and doctors
fought to save her life, but to no avail.
