Melbourne, Australia, 24 August 2021 -- We are so very excited to relaunch the Cagliero Project!
The Cagliero Project has traditionally focused on international placements throughout Asia, the Pacific and Africa. Like so many other things, we were impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. However, we never lost sight of being wholeheartedly committed to supporting overseas Salesian communities with long term volunteers. It has been a difficult time being unable to run at full capacity.
During this time, we have been working on developing long-term volunteer placements within Australia. We are thrilled that we have some great communities in Australia that are ready to host volunteers in 2022 and beyond.
We will continue to closely monitor the border closures and as soon as borders are open, we will also begin resending volunteers to overseas placement communities. We know our partners overseas have really missed the presence of Cagliero volunteers, and we cannot wait to recommence our relationship with them.
As we move forward, we are aware that we will have to consider each specific placement country. We may be able to send volunteers to some countries before others. At all times we will follow government advice on international travel and will consider each country and placement on a case-by-case basis.
We are so excited to resume both our international long term and immersion program as soon as it is safe to do so.
For now, we welcome applications for our wonderful placement communities in Australia. Our new, expanded, revitalised Cagliero Project is more expansive and more exciting than ever before... Are you ready to take up the challenge?
