God keeps calling -
Final Profession Bro. Mark in MYM
PWIN OO LWIN 287 August
2012 -- After years of prayer, reflection and
discernment,
Bro. Mark Vun Khan Cin of the Vice- Province of Myanmar made
his Final
Commitment with great joy and fervor at Don Bosco
Philosophate, Pyin Oo
Lwin, on the 25th August, 2012.
Accompanied by his family members and surrounded by fellow
Salesians and
neighbouring religious, Bro. Mark made his perpetual
profession before
Fr. Maurice Vallance, Superior of the Vice-Province of Myanmar
at 7: 00
a.m during the Eucharistic celebration. He took the gospel
passage from
St. John: “Consecrate them in the truth; your word is truth”
(John
17:17) as his motto.
In fact, Bro. Mark Cin is doing his Theological Studies at
Crocetta in
Turin, Italy. Finishing the Second Year Theology, he came back
to
Myanmar to make his Perpetual Profession and to witness to the
young
his total love for Christ.
In his homily, Fr. Maurice Vallance said that in our day,
there is a
shortage of vocation to religious life in general. He asked
the people
“Is this because God stop calling?, or due to the lack of
faith of the
people?” “Obviously”, he said “God keeps calling as before. In
fact,
Bro. Mark started his novitiate with other seven candidates.
But today,
he alone persevered.” “Therefore,” Fr. Provincial explained
that “we
need light and strength from the Lord”, and he invited the
people to
accompany Bro. Mark with their fervent prayers.
After the Mass, Bro. Mark expressed some words of heartfelt
thanks in
which he thanked the Lord for calling him to the Salesian
religious
life. His heartfelt thanks also went to the Superiors and his
fellow
Salesians for their guidance and help in his vocational
discernment and
maturity. Finally, he thanked all those present at his
profession
ceremony and for accompanying him with their prayers.
Sweet and short evening entertainment and wishes were planned
and
organized at Don Bosco Philosophate Community by the same
Philosophate
Community in collaboration with the Novitiate Community as
well.
