RCIA: SALESIAN APPOINTED AS DIOCESAN DIRECTOR

MELBOURNE: 18th Feb -- Fr. Elio Capra of the Australian Province has
been appointed as the Melbourne Archdiocesan Director of the RCIA
programme. "I really believe in the power and potential of the RCIA as a
process of renewal in the parish" said Fr. Elio at news of his appointment.
"That is my reason for accepting the position".
Fr. Elio has worked for many years in Salesian schools in Australia as a
Religious Education Coordinator. He has also taught at Catgholic
Theological College, the archdiocesan seminary in Melbourne. Fr. Elio
completed his Masters in Theology with emphasis on RCIA at Graduate
Theological Union, Berkeley in California and has recently returned from
Italy where he was completing doctoral studies. Fr. Elio is supported by a
lay assistant and the team forms part of the Office of Worship. The team's
main goal is to provide vision and direction to the RCIA in the archdiocese
and to foster links and cooperation with RCIA offices in Australia and
overseas.
