ROME: 4th January 2006 -- Excuse the interruption to your
day, and probably anyone under 60 wouldn't notice this anyway (and some
of the over 60's it seems too!) but the background clips in black and
white on the Strenna DVD are in fact from a life of Mamma Margaret, not
that of Don Bosco. You didn't know that life existed in black and
white? Nor did I! Apparently it has its origin not from
Italy but from South America somewhere, possibly Argentina, but
Elledici took it up some years ago and appropriately produced it in
black and white to keep everything in style.
Here's the good news, however. Feel some
nostalgia for the B&W Don Bosco? It's available in DVD from
Ireland. Pat Egan, an avid or at least occasional reader of
austraLasia, tells us that they will happily provide you with a copy
for 36 euro plus postage. It's well worth it. Contact SDB
Media, Eire, through sdbmedia@eircom.net.
