4725(IV)_"I will give you a teacher"
Global Novena to Mary Help of Christians 2018 (2)
May 13, 2018
RMG, 13 May 2018 -- Every year the Novena to Mary Help of Christians starts on 15th of May, the first videos are available in English on ANS Youtube channel. The Global Novena videos are simple 8 minutes messages for the effective animation of our prayer moments.
"I will give you the Teacher," little John Bosco heard in his dream as a nine-year-old boy. "She did everything," a mature Don Bosco would later say, almost at the end of his life, as he thought back to the many challenges he had faced and overcome for his young people. Our Lady had always been a close presence in the life of Don Bosco and he never tired of repeating it and encouraging people's devotion to Her.
This year the novena proposed by the Rector Major to the whole Salesian Family does focus on the dreams of Don Bosco with the May 24th Marian reflections of the traditional procession in the streets of Valdocco every year.
In each 9 minutes long video, the Salesian Family is offered
Main purpouse of this Global Novena is to follow the dreams of Don Bosco successor, that the Rector Major presented already during the Don Bosco Bicentenary about the whole Salesian Family in August 2015:
"I bring in my heart some dreams, the dream of a Salesian family of happy men and women.
The dream of a Salesian family and a congregation also, full of God, with women and men who live a profound faith.
The dream of a Salesian family where boys, girls, the young, especially the most needy and the poorest and most exploited, are always our priority and those that are in our hearts.
My dream of a Salesian family that truly lives the joy of the Gospel.
I dream about the Salesian family that is always missionary as Don Bosco himself wanted.
I dream finally of a Salesian family capable of being faithful today to what the Holy Spirit has asked us in the gift of Don Bosco's charism."
The videos are available on www.sdb.org or ANSChannel on YouTube, as usually in the main 6 langauges, the complete text of the Novena was published by the IME Province (Southern Italy) in Italian language, available upon request (eao@bosco.link).
