Brothers and New
Priests enrich
the ITM Vice-Province
Bicentenary of the Birth
of Don Bosco
Jakarta &
Fatumaca: August 2014
– The Perpetual profession of
three Salesian brothers last
August 1, in the Sunter Parish of
St John Bosco (Jakarta), was
significant way to begin the month
when we start the
Bicentenial of Don Bosco.
Br. Bernardinus Mei sdb, Br.
Gregorius Alex Wiyono sdb and Br.
Ignatius Satya Paramitha sdb, who
are still finishing their studies
in the Technical Institute in Bumi
Serpong Damai district, have made
their profession in the presence
of Fr. Joao Paulino Guterres sdb,
the provincial of the ITM Vice
Province. The theme of that
profession was: “Freely receive,
Freely give.”
Then on August 6, the ordination
of two Indonesian Salesians was
held in the Cathedral of the
Sacred Heart of Jesus, Surabaya,
along with another diocesan deacon
from the Surabaya Diocese. They
were Rev. Dominggus Huba Telupun
sdb and Rev. Aloysius Arianto
Susilo sdb. They were ordained by
Msgr. Vincentius Sutikno
Wisaksono, D.D. the bishop of
Surabaya, who incidentally has a
very strong devotion to St. John
Bosco and was himself very
instrumental in the coming of the
Salesians in his Diocese, where
they are now working in a parish
and two schools. Fr. Dominggos had
“Lord you know everything, You
know that I love you,” as his
motto while Fr. Rinto took “Only
God is enough,” as his own.
A few days later, in Fatumca, East
Timor, on August 17, Rev.
Inocencio Dimantino da Silva sdb
and Rev. Joao da Costa Boavida sdb
were ordained priests by Msgr.
Basilio do Nascimento DD, the
bishop of Baucau. The theme of
this ordination was "Remain in my
Love."
This day was also the launching of
the Bicentennial Celebrations
where the new ITM website was
inaugurated www.dbtimorleste.org
and the blessing of the site where
the Salesian Museum will be built
within the Salesian compound of
Fatumaca.
