Pacific Regional Seminary of St. Peter Chanel Graduation Day

Suva, Fiji, 10 November 2017 -- “Dreams cannot be brought or rented, it is you who should nurtured it, if you cannot dream what you want to be, then there is nothing to be achieved”
The Graduation Ceremony of St. Peter Chanel Seminary, Fiji was held on the 10 November, 2017 at the Pacific Regional Seminary Chapel. His Grace Archbishop Peter Loy Chong declared the ceremony opened by leading the celebration of the Eucharist. On his powerful homily he strong put forward these three things; “courage, prayer and trust” which serves has a message for the Year 7 students whom are leaving the seminary for the beginning of their ministry. He elaborate more by saying, you should have courage now to face all the trails of the ministry, along with that you all should firm in prayers and all in all trust in yourself and no doubt your future ministry will be fulfil. His final words were a reminder for them as well. It time for you to put into practise what you have been learnt in the seminary for the last seven years. Good luck to you all.
There were total of 70 graduates with 25 students of Year 3 graduate with Diploma of Theology and 45 students of Year 7 graduates with Bachelor of Divinity, among the graduands were our two Salesian Brothers, Reverend Deacon Tuia Penese Afoa graduates with a Distinction in a Bachelor of Divinity and Br Atonio Lealea graduate with Diploma of Theology. The program was graced by the presence of some of the Chief Guests from neighbouring Institute, parents, families and friends of all the graduands. The ceremony was followed by a Sevusevu a Fijian traditional way of welcoming the guests and celebrating of any event. Followed by a great Pacifica feast where everyone was invited to enjoy the completion of the academic year and the great achievement of all the graduands this year.
As a community we congratulate Deacon Tuia Penese Afoa and Br Atonio Lealea for succeeding in their studies this year and achieving such awards. And wish our Reverend Deacon Tuia Afoa all the best for all his preparations for his upcoming Priestly Ordination and good luck for the beginning of his priestly ministry among the youth and the people of Samoa. And more celebration of the graduation was held in the Don Bosco House of Formation in Suva Community as Fr. Rector officially congratulates the two Brothers for their great efforts and encouraging the rest of the Brother’s to keep on keeping on with their studies and the mission we have here among the young of Fiji.
