4465(III)_Preparation for the SamBosco 2017
August 13, 2017
Alafua, Samoa, 12 Aug 2017 -- The first leadership meeting for SamBosco 2017 was held recently. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the key issues and plan for the SamBosco. This year’s event will see the youth leaders involved in organising the program with the support and assistance of our young Salesians and prenovices. Sambosco is to be held from the 8th to 10th of September.
Fr Iosefo Mulipola Delegate of the Salesian Youth Ministry in Samoa encouraged the young leaders to take action by leading the SamBosco this year. Most of these young leaders are from the three Salesian parishes of Leauva’a, Salelologa and Sinamoga/Moamoa. Teachers from St Joseph’s Primary school (run by the Salesians Sisters of Leauva’a) and three members of the group Youth for Positive Change from Malololelei will also be involved. The formal discussions were then followed by a meal and refreshments.
Within each of the 4 countries of AUL (Australia - Pacific) Province is held an annual Salesian Youth Day, named accordingly - OzBosco (Australia), KiwiBosco (New Zealand), BulaBosco (Fiji) and SamBosco (Samoa).
