4024_Good chance to pray for Salesian Brother Vocation
The feast of Blessed Steven Sandor
June 7, 2016
By Fr. Arnold Sanico, SDB
Paranaque, the Philippines, 7 June 2016 -- Like the inter-regional (Inter-America and Southern Corn of America) house of specific formation for Salesian Brothers in Guatemala (CRESCO) the Blessed Sandor community does cater for the South Asia and EAO Salesian Brothers.
"This school year, in formation, there are 13 Brothers: 4 Brothers in second year and 9 Brothers in first year (3 from India and 6 from Vietnam: 3 who did their practical training in FIS, 2 in PNG-SI and one in VIE province). In this way our community become ever more multi-cultural and international, a true bridge between the two regions of South Asia and East Asia - Oceania. In the same time we are happy with the presence of two senior formators in our community - Br. Joe Ferrer and Fr. Bobby Roxas!
At the beginning of this school year we have done a seminar-workshop on Cross-cultural dynamics which was very enlightening and helpful and had celebrated a community bonding in Laguna. We are now working on the Community Formation Plan and policies for this school year.
The month of June is usually a good chance to pray for the Salesian vocation. The Feastday of our Patron may be also a good chance to pray for new Salesian Brothers Vocation. We are grateful for God's blessing in our Region - among the 214 temporary professed Salesian Brothers around the world there are 52 Brothers living in our region (America-60, Africa-41, South Asia-32 and in Europe 30). And we have every year some novices who opt to join the Congregation as Brothers. We hope to welcome all of them one day in the Blessed Steven Sandor community!
On the Boscolink you can get are some wonderful materials prepared by our community, that might be helpful in the celebration of the feast of Bl. Steven Sandor: Questions & Answers, Banner, Mass Liturgy, Liturgy of the Hours and some interesting photos .
Thanks for the prayers and support!
