Pampanga, the Philippines, 13 March 2019 -- Before the end of the second school year at the new Don Bosco Academy (Bacolor Campus) with 650 students (grade 1-8), 35 lay mission partners and two Salesians (non-resident - commuting from Mabalacat and from Manila), there is the wonderful feeling of something very beautiful. Grade 8 students are among the 'founders' of this new Bosconian traditions being built day by day through the education effort of the whole EPC (Educative-Pastoral community) of DBA Bacolor, Principal Fr. Ditto Gueco.

Born again! This is the story of this educational institution, a former High school Aspirantate, an Alma Mater for a good number of Filipino Salesians. In 1996 the former school was relocated 25 km from Bacolor in Mabalacat City, now a thriving Don Bosco Academy (Mabalacat) with 1500+ students of the academic school and trainees in TVET (Rector Fr. Ding Cortez and 5 confreres)

After almost 25 years buried under the volcanic ashes (lahar), thanks to the cooperation of many Don Bosco Alumni (the first school started in Bacolor in 1956), fervent Catholic benefactors and with the faith of the FIN provincial community, this school was re-opened in the same place in 2017 and last October 2018 a new building was blessed. The dreams go further to a complete EPC with 1300 students in this strategic location of Bacolor.

What does it mean to be a founder of this 'born again' Don Bosco school? Each teacher, all lay mission partners and all students are becoming founders and bearers of the Salesian spirit in contact with other Don Bosco schools, through the vibrant music, sports and pastoral animation of the school. Whoever comes to the school, can immediately sense the close relationship and family spirit breathing in this youngest Don Bosco educational institution in the Philippines. Welcome to Bacolor!
