Cebu City, Philippines - A new radio program “Panag-ambitay” (Visayan for sharing) was launched over DyRF Radio Fuerza (1215 on the AM band) operated by the Society of the Divine Word.
It is co-anchored by Fr. Randy Figuracion, SDB, Social Communications In-charge of the South Province, Carol Gatchalian-Arcenal, a professional catechists of the Archdiocese of Cebu who teaches at the Don Bosco Formation Center, and Human Resource practioner who is a past-pupil, Marlon Ardiente. The new show airs at 8 to 9 PM every Monday.
Together, the three hosts bring an exciting and interesting treasure chest of experiences and insights on, among others, life and living, spirituality, family, relationships, parenting and the youth. It draws its inspiration from St. John Bosco who used to say: “learn from everything that happens.” Thus it pays attention to the presence of God in daily life that makes the ordinary extraordinary.
The show has, as well, lined up guest resource persons for its wide variety of topics. The Salesians of Don Bosco, which co-produces the show with DyRF, designed it to accommodate a broad range of subject matters relevant to the Filipino family, including contemporary issues facing the latter.
Unique in its interactive format, ‘Panag-ambitay’ welcomes phone-in or short-message participation from its audience. It is available on the web through the station’s digital App for iOS and Android devices.
The launch of ‘Panag-ambitay’ comes just over a month before the 200th birth anniversary of Salesian founder St. John Bosco or Don Bosco, known worldwide as the Father and Friend of the Youth, on August 16, 2015.
Don Bosco 200 happens in Cebu on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Don Bosco Technology Center, one of the first Salesian presences in Philippines. Through its numerous presences the world over, the Salesian family has made a difference in the lives of many young people, particularly poor boys, following the example set by its founder.
For Fr. Randy and his Salesian Radio Team ministry, this new radio program is their gift to St John Bosco as they strive to find new ways to reaching out to the youth and their families.
