4164(I)_Cluster Recollection 2016
October 13, 2016
Talisay City, the Philippines, 10 October 2106 -- The Salesians from the Negros and Cebu islands of FIS province gathered for the first Cluster Recollection of the year at Don Bosco Retreat House, Lawaan, Talisay City, Cebu, reflecting on the theme, Mercy and Compassion in our Communities. They were joined by the FIS and FIN province.
Rev. Fr. Eligio Santos, SDB, guided everyone with his reflections lifted from the writings of Pope Francis in this Jubilee Year of Mercy. The confreres then broke into communities to have their sharing, most of whom saw the relevance of how Jesus showed his compassion to the adulterous woman by giver her the space she needed from the hostile crowd who had judged her and showed signs of hurting her.
It was a day of fruitful encounter, of prayer and of learning from various pastoral and spiritual experiences from both the “young and younger” confreres— according to the words of Fr Eligio.
The celebration of the Eucharist was a meaningful way to end the day as participants brought home a heart filled with each other’s portion of the mercy of the Father.
