Jakarta
hosts EAO Provincials and YM Delegates meeting
JAKARTA: 9 March 2012 --
The
provincials, superiors of delegations and youth ministry
delegates
from the East Asia Oceania Region have just finished their
four day
meeting. It started last Monday, the 5th of March with the
animating
presence of Fr Fabio Attard, SDB and Fr Andy Wong, SDB.
Several
sessions were attended by both the Provincials and the youth
ministry
delegates, yet there were also sessions when the provincials
met by
themselves. All the 36 Salesians stayed in the retreat house
of the
Canossian Sisters in Bintaro, Jakarta City.
Aware of the various Salesian initiatives related to the
crescendo of
preparations for the bicentenial celebration of Don Bosco's
birth, the
participants discussed the rethinking of the Salesian youth
apostolate
among the young, looking at ways to remain faithful to the
apostolic
zeal of Don Bosco while increasing the quality of the intended
impact
of Salesian youth ministry among the young and in the Church.
The youth
ministry delegates intend to carry out this rethinking process
in
themselves first, at the personal level, as a fitting devotion
to St.
John Bosco.
Led by Fr. Boedi (Boedirahardjo Soerjonoto), SDB, the fifth
day
(Friday) will be used for a cultural tour in the pavilions of
Taman
Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII - Indonesia in Miniature ) and to
visit the
postnovitiate community in Sunter.
