5748(II)_Quinquennium Course in MYM Viceprovince 2021
Anisakan, Myanmar, 16 December 2021 -- Twelve young Salesian priests from Myanmar Vice-province spent 3 days on their 'Quinquennium' Formation with the theme of "What Kind of Salesian for the Youth in Myanmar today" in the Anisakan Provincial House MYM Vice-province near Mandalay.
They were assisted by the Vice-provincial, Fr. Leo Mang and enjoyed their sharing, prayers, input and fraternal time. Thanks to the pandemic experience of many EAO online events, they are grateful to many EAO resource persons who shared online: Fr. Anthony Dung (EAO formation coordinator - based in Australia) and Fr. Robert Zarate (former missionary in Japan, based in FIN) who shared Salesian Identity; Fr. Gabriel Cruz (Mexican missionary in Pakistan, FIS) who shared on the Salesian Sacrament of Presence (among the Young) and Fr. Adrian Mendoza (Formator in Lawaan, FIS) who shared on Salesian Pastors today. Also two MYM confreres, Fr. Soe Naing Mariano (Novice-master) sharedhis thoughts on the Personal plan of life and Fr. Khun Myat Victor (Provincial Economer) shared some practical issues of Salesian economy and solidarity.
The SDB General Regulations (art. 99) states that 'Ongoing formation requires that each confrere develop his capacity for communication and dialogue, he should form in himself an open and discerning mentality and a spirit of initiative and in this way conveniently renew his own plan of life...' We pray that the numerous group of young Salesian in Quinquennium (5 years after ordination for priests) may cultivate necessary habits of life-long formation also thanks to such events.
