5524(I)_Bisperas Sa Veritas – Sweet Sixteen
December 03, 2020
Manila, the Philippines, 3 December 2020 -- Bisperas Sa Veritas, a weekly radio program that helps listeners and viewers prepare themselves for the Sunday liturgy, celebrated its 16th anniversary last November 28, the Saturday before the First Sunday of Advent. It aired its maiden program on the eve of the First Sunday of Advent, 2004.
“Bisperas” (EVE) pertains to the nature of the program, that is, the day before an event. It’s a weekly program every Saturday from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm perfectly serves its nature as it is just right before the anticipated 6:00 pm Sunday Mass that is celebrated in many churches and chapels all over the country.
“Sa Veritas” simply refers to Radio Veritas (846kHz), the Catholic Radio Station based in Metro Manila where this program airs its weekly program live. Bisperas Sa Veritas can also be viewed all over the world live via Veritas846.ph Facebook Page. Its past programs are posted on its own Bisperas Sa Veritas Facebook Page.
The program is produced by Word Media Ministry in cooperation with Word And Life Publications of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Philippines-North Province.
It has survived for the past sixteen years mainly because of the support of the gracious generosity of benefactors and the enthusiasm of the lay members of Word Media Ministry.
Fr. Salvatore Putzu, SDB, and Fr. Bernard Nolasco, SDB are the two Salesian priests who take turns as main anchors of the program. It stands by its motto: TO HEAR, LIVE, AND SHARE GOD’S WORD.
