Viva Don Bosco!
My name is Fr. Joseph Nguyen Thinh Phuoc. As you have known the last day of the General Chapter the delegates have elected me as the regional councilor (of EAO region) so I would like to take the opportunity to extend my heartfelt greetings to all of you: the Salesians of Don Bosco, my confreres, the Salesian family members, to all of you. Please accept me as your brother. In spite of my limitation, but by the will of God, the superiors and the delegates of the chapter have entrusted me such a high responsibility as the regional councilor of East Asia Oceania. This is a sudden lift in the responsibility for me. I have to thank them for their trust in me. I also thank my provincial, Fr. Joseph Quang who insisted me to accept this responcibility. He promised to support me as other superiors.
The decision for my new role took place on Friday (yesterday) as our local community finishing the Rosary and began to celebrate the way of the cross. I know it will not be an easy task I have to improve my communication skill in another language yet I entrust this 6-year-journey to the help of our Mother Mary, to the intercession of St. Joseph and to you my confreres and the Salesian family members. Please continue to pray for me and support me to fulfill my duty as regional councilor.
