Brothering for life
BENGUET, Phillipines: 6th November 2007 -- From
October 26-28 five Salesian Brothers (Bros. Jomar Castillo, Carmelo
Martinez, Roberto Navarez, Paul Le Minh and Raymond Callo) attended the
gathering of the Luzon Association of Religious Brothers
(LARB), of which Bro Callo, commonly known as Bro Mon, is
chairman. At least 45 Brothers from 12 Religious Congregations
were in attendance. The meeting was held at Valley Point, Tuba Benguet
on Luzon Island. Luzon is the Phillipines' largest and economically
most important island group and is located in the north of the
archipelago. It holds the capital, Manila.
Bro Raymond Bellezza SJ was workshop and guest
speaker for the event. He lectures at the Ateneo de Zamboanga
University. Bro Bellezza developed his talks around the theme of
'Brothering for Life' which entailed discussion of the importance of
certain aspects of formation in the light of the needs of Brothers in
formation. The three days were divided over several themes:
Brotherhood, Getting to know one another, Deepening the understanding
of the vocation to lay brotherhood as a relevant and dynamic gift from
God in the response to that call each day. _________________ AustraLasia is an
