MACAU: 10 July
2012 -- Salesian Stephen Wong Ka Fai was
ordained at the
Cathedral of Macau, Largo da Sé on 23 June 2012.
The ordaining prelate was Bishop Joseph Lai. Cardinal Joseph
Zen
concelebrated, along with the Provincial of China Province Fr
Simon
Lam and priests from Macau diocese, other religious institutes
and the
Salesian Society. The Cathedral was filled to capacity before
3pm, the
time for the ordination Mass.
After the Gospel, Fr. Simon recommended Stephen Wong to
receive
ordination. Bishop Lai explained the significance of
priestly
ministry and encouraged the candidate to be faithful to his
undertaking, then using the formal responses of the ceremony,
Stephen
Wong pledged to accept the priestly ministry and be obedient
to his
Bishop, shepherd the faithful with the guidance of Holy Spirit
and fulfil his priestly ministry with perseverance.
Salesian Youth then performed an action song “Father of Youth
– Don
Bosco” to congratulate and encourage this new minister of God.
Fr
Stephen also appealed to the young to reflect and respond to
God’s call
actively and urged the faithful to pray for vocations in
Macau.
