Thanks for the donation received for the missionaries in Patagonia, which will be used over several years.
Turin, 1 November 1886
Worthy Sir,
I received with sincere gratitude the generous donation that Your Excellency, in your great charity, deigned to make for our missionaries who are going to work to convert the savages of America, and especially Patagonia, to the Gospel.
In addition to their sincere and well-deserved thanks, they pray in a special way for you and your families; encouraged by the material and moral support you give them, they will redouble their zeal and, if necessary, willingly give their lives to cooperate in the salvation of souls, expanding the kingdom of Jesus Christ by bringing religion and civilisation to those peoples and nations that are still ignorant of both.
May God bless you all, may God richly reward your charity and make you happy in time, and even happier in blessed eternity. I greatly enjoy being able to profess myself in Our Lord Jesus Christ,
Your most obliged servant
Fr John Bosco
