To Pope Pius IX
E III, 1450
A countess asks His Holiness how much to offer for the construction of the church of St John the Evangelist in Turin, near the Protestant church and schools.
Turin, August 1870
Most Holy Father,
Countess Carlotta Callori, a wealthy lady and fervent Catholic, has kindly decided to make a generous donation to continue the construction of the church of St John the Evangelist, already begun in Turin near the Protestant church and schools.
However, this pious lady, solely for the spiritual consolation of herself and her family, would like the amount of this sum to be written by the venerable hand of Your Holiness.
Fr John Bosco prostrate at the feet of Your Holiness, humbly begs for this requested favour
