Best wishes for her wedding — sending sixty dozen lottery tickets

Turin, 21 August 1862

Your Royal Highness,

In the general rejoicing for the wedding celebrations that are deservedly being prepared for Your Royal Highness, I take the liberty of recommending to you a charitable work supported by the charity of your august father, your ever-lamented mother, and the generosity of Your Highness yourself.

There are sixty dozen tickets that I humbly recommend to your charity which we have already experienced, humbly asking you to consider them in favour of these poor young people who, beyond their heartfelt gratitude, will invoke every day upon you and your august spouse abundant blessings from heaven.

May God bless you and fill you with his grace; and may he allow me, on behalf of the young people who have already benefited from your generosity on so many occasions, to have the great honour of professing my utmost veneration for

Your Royal Highness,

Your most obliged servant,

Fr John Bosco
