My dear Giulio Giulio,

Here is the answer to your question:

1. For breakfast, a gavasso [loaf of bread]; for lunch, according to appetite; no snack; for dinner, according to appetite but with moderation.

2. No fasting, except what the Society does.

3. Rest according to the house timetable; when you wake up, immediately start reviewing some parts of your school textbooks.

4. The essential study is that of the seminary; the rest is merely incidental. Every concern should be for the former.

5. Do everything, suffer everything to win souls for the Lord.
