“Always remember that the greatest wealth in this world is the holy fear of God.”

Turin, 31 July 1857

Dear friend in the Lord,

Take courage and place all your hope in the Lord. I believe that they will no longer ask you for the fr. 24 entrance fee to the seminary; if they ask you again, tell your superiors to kindly contact me and I will sort it out.

Given your family's financial difficulties, if you would like to come and spend the holidays here with me, please do so, as I would be delighted. Just let me know a few days in advance.

Of course, always remember that the greatest wealth in this world is the holy fear of God; and that diligentibus Deum omnia cooperantur in bonum.

If you are in serious need, please let me know.

Believe that I a always, in the Lord,

Yours most affectionately,

Fr John Bosco
