Mother General Caterina Daghero-2

To Mother General Caterina Daghero

E VII, 3951

He thanks her for the good wishes received from the nuns and the schoolgirls and reassures her about the rumours circulating.

Turin, 25 December 1883

Reverend Mother General

I have received your good wishes and those of our other sisters and pupils. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and pray to God that He will richly reward you for the charity you show me with your prayers.

Do not pay attention to the rumours that some people are spreading about our houses. They are vague, misunderstood, and presented in a different light. Therefore, if anyone wants something, let them say so and speak clearly.

Rest assured: when I need something, I will not send someone to tell you, but I will tell you or write to you myself.

May God bless you and grant perseverance to you, our sisters and all the pupils entrusted to you. Believe me in J. C.

your humble servant

Fr John Bosco
