My dear Vaccaneo,

I received your letter and was pleased that you wrote to me; I will be sure to commend you to the Lord in Holy Mass, pray for me too.

God does not want us to live under the same roof for now; who knows if this will happen at another time? May everything be for his greater glory.

I recommend three things to you: attention in morning meditation; go around with friends who are most devoted to piety; moderation in food.

God bless you and all my sons from the Oratory who are with you; give them my regards, pray for me, who am in a heartfelt way
