Attachment of membership of both spouses to the Salesian Cooperators, and a begging letter.

Turin, 16 July 1876

Dear Marquis,

Cleric Bonora brought me news that you are in better health. I thank the Lord and pray that he will keep you in perfect health for a long time to come.

I am sending you and the Marchioness your membership in the Salesian Cooperators, which we have discussed several times. This will allow you to enjoy the many indulgences and spiritual graces granted by the benevolent reigning Pope Pius IX.

I am also enclosing a copy of a letter in which I am begging for the missionaries I am to send to America. Do what you can, and the good Lord will reward with paradise those who give their lives for souls, and likewise those who come to the aid of the missionaries, who will be 20 in number.

May God grant you and the Marchioness good health and a good harvest, where I hope to be able to pay my respects to you.

Tomorrow I am leaving for Alassio on urgent business; I commend myself to your prayers and profess that I am

Yours most faithfully,

your most obliged servant,

Fr John Bosco
