In Ukraine there are about forty Salesians, who belong to the UKR Vice Province
(Byzantine liturgy), of which Fr. Mikajlo Chaban is Superior, or to the PLS Province,
based in Krakow (Roman liturgy).
The presence of the "sons of Don Bosco" concerns the following centres:
• BIBRKA (PLS) – parish
• DNIPRO (UKR) – humanitarian and university work
• LVIV (UKR) – (see below)
• KIEV (UKR) – Salesian presence with university students
• NOVOSILKA (UKR) – parish and centre of youth spirituality
• ODESSA (PLS) – parish and primary school
• KOROSTYSHIV (PLS) – parish and youth centre
• PEREMYSHLANY (PLS) – parish and oratory
Salesian presences in Lviv:
• Lviv Pokrova – Headquarters of the Vice Province with parish, oratory, school, catechesis groups and
student residence.
• Lviv Vynnyky – small town without an official parish, but with animators and around 40 immigrants
from eastern Ukraine.
• Lviv Philip Rinaldi – Family Home with around 60 children in difficulty, CFP with 200 students, football
club with 300 children.
• Lviv Mariapoli – a “city” made of temporary building cells built for 1000 people who fled the war.
