Since cloning is not allowed - aggressive campaign for Salesian Brother!
Cologne (nothing to do with 'clone') and Cooperators also worth a look!

PORT MORESBY: 10th July 2005 -- The first responses to the questionnaire on the Salesian Brother have come in and are now available on www.bosconet.aust.com/brother.htm .  The commentator is not tongue-in cheek when he says that since cloning is not allowed, we need a strong vocational campaign for the Salesian Brother!  The same thought is echoed in the second of the two responses that are the first to arrive.  A Seminar on the and for the Salesian Brother is scheduled for 2006 in the EAO Region.
Don Bosco's comment that 'there are things that the priest cannot do...' is identified as problematic today, unless seen in context.  In the general PNG response to the questionnaire, practical approaches to such a vocational campaign are offered.  They include biographies, the use of social communication to promnote the Brother, aggressive and consistent promotion, in addition to intense prayer.  Readers may wish to consult the link indicated above for at least some beginnings to such a campaign.
The July update of Bosconet, the Regional website, contains a number of important and useful connections:  World Youth Day replaces the Mongolia website featured in June.  Links are offered to the main WYD website and the Salesian Cologne WYD information site.  There appears to be growing interest in the possibility of an EAO groups gathering at Cologne in addtion to the Don Bosco Weltweit gathering promoted on the latter site.  One correspondent suggests taht it could be on August 19th - reactions?  And that it could be a follow-up to the almost forgotten 1995 SAY (Salesian Asian Youth) meeting - reactions?
Finally, Bosconet now contains the most complete and up-to-date collection of materials on the ASC, Association of Salesian Cooperators, available in English, and with special reference to EAO.  Check it out on
