Film and Video on Salesian Brothers

CHENNAI: 27th May 2005 --
The Chennai (formerly Madras) Province Communications Centre sends news of the production of a film on the life of Bro. Artemides Zatti.  The Centre conducted a 5 day shoot on his life.  Calling it "a mega production involving 72 technicians and 36 actors" the production has attempted to reproduce in minute detail the Argentinian setting of the early 20th century.
Actors for the film were drawn from the Anglo-Indian community to ensure familiarity with English and a sufficiently universal accent.  The film was expected to be released by the beginning of this current month.
There are interesting 'inside' stories to the production.  Apparently Marlin Brando was not the only one who occasionally caused major upsets at a film shoot.  The actor playing the key role of Zatti disappeared after the first two shoots!
Given the effort to prepare for the Zatti production, a 2 day shoot followed based more broadly on the vocation of the Salesian Brother.  Efforts were made to use the cinematic medium to throw light on the vocation of the Brother today, as man and Religious.
