Constitutions|Prayers| (1)|art.4-21

May You be blessed, Father, for giving us Don Bosco as our father and teacher, and for filling him with extraordinary gifts of nature and of grace. He showed himself perfectly human among his contemporaries while being completely dedicated to You. Grant that by following his teaching and example, we may bring him to life again in ourselves. We make this prayer through >>>> [Art. 21]

Almighty God, in the Preventive System, Don Bosco found a sure method for spreading Your love among the young. Grant that we too may assimilate and live this form of total dedication to the young. May we practice it with all whom we meet and be able to transmit it faithfully and intact to those who will come after us. Through Christ our Lord.

[Art. 20]

Bestow on us, Lord, “hearts as great as the shores of the sea”, able to read the signs of Your presence and the designs of Your will.

Help us to be courageous in initiatives, ready to respond to the needs of people and places, forgetful of our own interests, prompted only by the desire for Your glory and the salvation of others. Through Christ our Lord.

[Art. 19]

Holy God, like Don Bosco, may we respond generously to Your call and dedicate ourselves tirelessly to the salvation of youth. Help us to understand that we are Your collaborators in building the Kingdom and that hard work and restraint are the secret of being fruitful. May we accept each day’s demands and make of them an instrument for Your greater glory and the salvation of the young.Thru>>[Art. 18]

Lord, help us to follow the examples of St. Francis de Sales and Don Bosco by believing in the goodness that hides in the heart of every person despite their weaknesses. May we always remain full of trust despite the difficulties of each day. Help us to discern the Kingdom in the Creation and be bearers of a joy and holiness based on Christian happiness. Through Christ>>>> [Art. 17]

Grant, O Lord, to our communities a true family spirit in mutual trust and reciprocal forgiveness, and in the joyful sharing of all we have in obedience to the supreme law of love. Grant also that many young people may find themselves at ease with us, and so be encouraged to get to know and to follow the same vacation. Through Christ our Lord.

[Art. 16]

Source of all love, through Your Spirit You bring to birth in us the living force of true friendship. Make us open and cordial to all, especially the young. Make us generous and impartial in our love for each and every person, with a sincere and chaste affection, so that it may prove to be for those we meet a reflection and foretaste of the love we will share with you in eternity. Through>>>[Art. 15]

We thank You, Father, for having filled the heart of Don Bosco with zeal for the young. Enrich the heart of every Salesian with the same gift of loving kindness, and help us to discover the presence of Jesus in every young person, so that we may be ready to offer our time, talents, health and indeed our whole life to them in imitation of our Founder. Through Christ our Lord. [Art. 14]

Loving Father, You willed the Church to be the People of the New Covenant. Grant that we may express our fidelity and always remain in unity with the Pope and Bishops. Teach us how to educate young people to an authentic sense of Church and how to lead those who are still in search of the Truth towards a deeper understanding of it. Through Christ our Lord.

[Art. 13]

Jesus, render all our activity fruitful, by a constant and living union with You and with the Father, so that, becoming ‘contemplatives in action’ like Don Bosco we may find in trusting and heartfelt dialogue with You the strength to do everything for Your love, and to preserve until death our total self-donation for your Kingdom.

[Art. 12]

Loving Saviour, the source and model of our pastoral charity, grant that we may imitate Your unconditional dedication to the saving will of the Father, Your loving concern as the Good Shepherd for the good of all, especially those who are in most need of Your love, and Your desire to gather all into unity. Grant that these qualities invigorate our spiritual life and our apostolic commitment. [Art. 11]

Lord Jesus, You have loved us even to the extent of giving Your life for the life of all. Animate our lives with the same burning pastoral charity with which you filled Don Bosco, and the first Salesians. Help us to continue to grow in apostolic zeal so that we may live our Salesian vocation authentically – in seeking souls and serving You alone.

[Art. 10]

Good Shepherd, grant that through the particular intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph her husband, St Francis de Sales, Don Bosco, our Father and Founder, Dominic Savio, that outstanding sign of your grace, and all the other glorified members of our Family that we may work effectively at our own holiness in the building up of Your kingdom. [Art. 9]

Lord Jesus, You gave Don Bosco Your own Mother to be his mother, teacher and helper. Through her, You showed him his field of work and inspired him to found our Society. Grant that we may always be aware of the living and active presence of Mary: Mother of the Church and Help of Christians. May we always be witnesses of Your unbounded love.

[Art. 8]

Lord our God, You call us to serve you in others. Grant that we may share with sincerity the hopes and anxieties of people of our time, and accept with an open heart the values of the cultures we are in, willingly sharing the needs of marginalised young people; so that being in the world we may be instrumental in bringing to it a new experience of Your justice and love. Through >>> [Art 7]

Lortd, make us ever aware that our Salesian vocation places us at the heart of the Church’s mission. May we be faithful to the Salesian charism and be true missionaries to the young by spreading Your Good News. May we always, trusting in Providence, collaborate in building up the Mystical Body of Christ.

Through Christ our Lord. [Art 6.]

God, our Father, You have entrusted the Salesian mission to different groups in a single great Family. Pour out upon us Your Spirit so that in our familial union and in the sincere sharing of our gifts of nature and of grace, we may all be able to collaborate with true effectiveness in bringing the Good News to the young and other marginalised people.

Through Christ our Lord. [Art. 5]

Lord, You ask all of us to express in different and complementary forms the richness of one Salesian vocation, by living in union with one another. Help us to bear abundant witness to You with the same zeal and kindness of our Patron, St. Francis de Sales, so that the Salesian programme” Da mihi animas, cetera tolle” may be spread throughout the world:

Through Christ our Lord. [Art. 4]
