1. Spiritual Life in the community

  • promote prayer together with the young and our lay mission (read ‘camp helpers’) partners.


2. Our community witness of fraternity and communion

  • Update our SEPP (or make sure we have one with regard to the camp)

3. The Salesian presence among young people

  • Share the life of those in need

  • Promote vocations

  • Aim at efficient salesian evangelization

  • Let the mentality of ‘animation’ grow more

4. Formation: personal and community

  • Form Salesians to become spiritual guides

  • Assistance and animation are formative practices

  • Put into practice the basic framework of Salesian Youth Ministry



SALESIAN YOUTH MINISTRY


  • Method: Preventive System

  • Assistance: meeting, presence, dialogue, friendship

  • Participation of the young people themselves

  • Appeal to inner forces and factors

  • Environment, group experiences and attention to each individual

  • Features such as: welcome, family spirit, joy and festive spirit, commitment, creativity, flexibility, reason

  • Key areas (applies even to camp!): education, evangelization, social growth, vocational choice

  • Departure point – the young person him/herself – growth as person and into Christ.

  • Creating an ‘educative community’ out of the group

  • Culture

  • Evangelization: witness, proclamation, life in Christ, involvement, celebration.
