Great guide for 5000 pilgrims - Brother Cosimo

Rome, Italy, 28 July 2019 -- There are four main holy places of Don Bosco - three in Piedmont (Valdocco, Chieri and Becchi-Colle Don Bosco) and one in Rome (Sacro Cuore). Since December 2017, when the Rector Major and his Council moved to the heart of Rome, every Thursday morning the General Council Eucharist is celebrated in Don Bosco's rooms.

Small or larger groups, some 5000 visitors throughout the year - pilgrims guided by Br. Cosimo Cossu (former missionary in Ecuador) are able to have a deep spiritual experience and meet Don Bosco in his 'Rooms' on the second floor of Sacred Heart house, close to the Basilica. The formal name is on the wall only in Italian 'Museo di Don Bosco': there are two separate rooms - one is the former room of Don Bosco turned in a 'Chapel' with the original bed, table and altar. This is the venue for the General Council's weekly Eucharist. Another larger room brings together (only in Italian until now!) the photos and historic documents regarding Don Bosco's numerous visits to Rome, the Dream at 9 years of age, and the Eucharist celebrated by our Father on 16 May 1887.

For anybody who visits Rome, this is a must visit for prayer and a deeper knowledge of Don Bosco. Under the competent and passionate guidance of Br. Cosimo you will be not disappointed. Do you kno, how many times Don Bosco visited Rome? Do you know how long our Saint spent in Rome during these numerous visit to the Vatican Congregations, benefactors and the Holy Father? Do you know how tall Don Bosco was?

Actually the 'Camerette' (Rooms) of Don Bosco near the Basilica of the Sacred Heart is the venue of his last (20th) stay in Rome from 30 April to 18 May 1887. On the other side of the current large "Sacro Cuore" house you can find another small chapel - the presumed place where Don Bosco wrote his Letter(s) from Rome in May 1884. Welcome to the holy places of Don Bosco in Rome!
