4820(I)_Celebrating the Assumption of Our Blessed Mother

Port Moresby, PNG, 15 August 2018 -- The Feast of the Assumption of Our Blessed Mother was celebrated on 15thAugust, 2018 at Don Bosco Technical School, Gabutu with a Solemn Eucharistic celebration. Fr. Roger Miranda sdb, Provincial Economer of the Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands vice-province (PGS) celebranted at the Solemn Eucharistic celebration. Concelebrating with him was Fr. Ambrose Pereira sdb.


Addressing the 1,200 staff and students, Fr Roger highlighted the following words: Struggle, Resurrection and Hope. He invited all the Bosconians to rise above their difficulties, temptations and difficulties and live in hope. “Our Blessed Mother was chosen by God, but did her part to fulfil Gods plan. She stands as a model of hope for each of us as we struggle to live our lives following the commandments of the Lord”, he said.


The liturgy was animated with an entrance and offertory dance by the Motor Vehicle and Mechanics students. The singing was led by Eddie Kantomu and the music group.


The students then enjoyed athletics and parlor games. All enjoyed a delicious lunch in honour of Our Blessed Mother.


All look forward to the celebration of the birthday of St John Bosco and the Academia to be staged at 10am on 16thAugust, 2018 at the school hall.
