5754(III)_Warmest Christmas greetings from Mongolia

By

Ulanbaatar, Mongolia, 31 December 2021 -- The three most northern Don Bosco presences in the EAO region are located in the Mongolia Delegation: Darkhan, Shuwuu and Ulanbaatar. For the past two years due to travel restrictions they have been pretty much isolated from the rest of the world. We are happy to share their Christmas 2021 mosaic:

Christmas Message from the Mongolia Delegate - Superior, Fr Paul Leung:

"Dear brothers and sisters, In these two years, the world has been suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic. People expected that this pandemic would finish soon, but it has been continuing until now. It is somehow like the people waiting for the coming of the promised Messiah in ancient times, and each time they were disappointed. When it all seemed hopeless, the Son of God entered the world quietly; and without notice from many people, He brought salvation to the whole world. Now even though we are still under the thick darkness of the COVID-19 pandemic, we know that the Light is coming to shine upon the world. Once the Light comes, there will be no more darkness, so let us move forward with HOPE and welcome the true Light, the Messiah, with a joyful heart. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year."

The long Mongolian winter is also a chance to get closer with some little help to people in need to produce the first ever Salesian Family calendar in Mongolian, to open a new Mongolia delegation website in 3 languages and celebrate on a small scale the Birth of Jesus with our parishioners in Darkhan (Mary Help of Christians) and Shuwuu (Holy Family), with the children in the Caring Center (Ulanbaatar) and our lay mission partners and Salesian Family members: 9 SDBs, 4 FMA sisters, dozens of Salesian Cooperators and hundreds of Don Bosco Past Pupils.

Merry Christmas! The Light of the World, Jesus Christ is born also in Mongolia!
