Death of Fr Jack Trisolini, in KOR

"When it happens that a Salesian dies working for souls, the Congregation has won a great triumph" (C. 54)
by Bro. H. Seo

SEOUL: 22 November 2010 -- A story of triumph, then, in KOR Province. Today, 22 November at 5 pm Fr John F. Trisolini was called by the Lord to Don Bosco's garden in Paradise, while at work in his office at the Workers Centre, Seoul Archdiocese, where he had spent more than 20 years.
Fr John F.  (Jack) Trisolini was born in Hoboken, New Jersey (USA) in March 1937. Professed as a Salesian of St John Bosco in 1958, he graduated from the Don Bosco Graduate School, Newton, New Jersey in June 1959 and was sent to Korea to complete his training in December 1959. After studying in Rome and Turin with further studies in theology at Lyon and at the Graduate School of Theology Fontanièères (France), he was ordained priest in 1967. He then became very active in youth ministry amongst young workers since 1968 in Seoul Archdiocese.  He was especially involved in assisting the JOC (Jeunesse Ouvrière Catholique - Young Catholic Workers) Korea during the period of military dictatorship in which he had to suffer so much to protect young worker's rights from the brutal military government. We should say that really his life is the authentic testimony and history of the youth-worker ministry in the Korean Church.
Recently Jack suffered from lung and kidney cancer, which forced him to undergo dialysis twice a week, including this morning. After he came back to his office, he was looking very tired, and was anxious to prepare for the 40th anniversary of his office, the Workers Centre of Seoul Archdiocese. At 5 pm he was found dead, seated on his chair in front of the computer monitor on which appeared a part of the draft of his new book on worker ministry history, which will be published for 40th anniversary.
The funeral Mass will celebrated on 25 November in the Seoul Archdiocese Cathedral and his body, according to his own wish, will be given in donation for medical study, destined for the Catholic Medical University in Seoul, without interment.

Please remember him in your prayers.
