China Province translates Salesian glossary for its own use

HONG KONG:  6th April 2005 --  The China Province has taken the Salesian Thesaurus and Glossary, which has up till now been an Italian-English pairing of terms, and added the Chinese characters for each term.  This means that now the Chinese province members have access to a standardised translation of some 800 plus terms in common Salesian use.  At this point they have not extended this effort to a translation of the extensive comments on terms contained within the glossary.
In the meantime the STG has reached its fourth, corrected, and now fully hyperlinked edition with almost 100 extra terms.  A far more extensive 'product' called SELECT is currently under construction and will be a fully contained website allowing rapid and extensive consultation of Salesian terminology, at least in the Italian-English pairing and now, possibly, with the addition of Chinese.  The 4th ed. of STG is available from Bosconet (cf. address below).
It is hoped that other Asian languages will take up the challenge, using the Chinese effort as a model.
