Valdocco, 17 January 2020 -- In the afternoon of 16 January the 38th Salesian Family Spirituality days opened in the Mother House at Valdocco - a 4-day event (16-19 January) held in the Valdocco Theatre and Basilica of Mary Help of Christians. Among the 400 participants from most of the 32 Salesian Family groups are also 14 Caritas Sisters of Jesus (Superior General Mother Teresia Furuki) and ADMA Philippines President Ms. Maria Junifer. The scroll of Strenna 2020 in Mongolian script exhibited at Valdocco is also a visible symbol of many other EAO countries. Among the participants are quite a few who also came from the USA, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Korea and African countries.

The entire event is streamed live on the ANS Facebook pages in 5 different languages, while the participants at Valdocco are helped by the simultaneous translation (via smartphone PATAGONIA) in Italian, Spanish, English and Korean. On the stage there is the lively interactive moderation of Fr Moreno Filipetto (ICP province)

On the first day the Strenna 2020 theme was introduced with a 15-minute video (ANS YouTube channel). After the video followed the lively personal presentation, motivation of this year's Strenna by the 10th successor of Don Bosco, Fr Ángel F. Artime. After the PowerPoint presentation based on the official commentary the Rector Major also answered a few questions from participants.

The last common moment of the day, after a good dinner in three different refectories at Valdocco, was the evening prayer animated by the SDB novices with the Good Night Talk from Fr. Ángel on the 'secret' of Salesian schools of holiness at Valdocco during the first 40 years, when Don Bosco was living within these walls.
