Manila: 1st November 2005 --  Don Bosco Technical College in Mandaluyong City, Philippines, won two trophies at the annual Catholic Mass Media Awards held on 29 October 2005 at the Carlos P. Romulo (former UN Secretary General) Auditorium in Makati City, in glittering ceremonies attended by the Vice President of the Philippines and the Archbishop of Manila.  The EPC magazine the Bosconian Forum, won the 'Best Local Community Magazine'.  The 12 x 24 foot billboard, entitled 'Little Brother', posted along the Shangri-La Hotel and Mall complex at the heart of Mandaluyong City, won this year's 'Best Branded Outdoor Advertisement'.  Incidentally, the celebrity who read out the award for Don Bosco was himself a past pupil who now works as a TV talk show host and newspaper columnist.
In 2003, the school also won in the same category for its billboard 'Prayer Makes Men Out of Boys'.  The school's Sunday radio program, scripted and anchored by students aged 11 to 16 years old for the past ten years, won the Catholic Mass Media Awards Hall of Fame for having won the Best Public Service and Educational Program for Radio in 1997, 200 and 2001.  The Catholic Mass Media Awards reward and pay tribute to media products that enhance the total human development of the Filipino audience through the competent and professional use of mass media techniques.
